ALEJANDRO ESCUER

Alejandro Escuer es un músico mexicano dedicado a la interdisciplina y específicamente a la interpretación, a la creación, a la improvisación y al imuplso de proyectos artísticos de carácter nacional e internacional. Tal es el caso de www.onixensamble.com y proyectos como www.luminico.org, colaboraciones con músicos de culturas y tradiciones diversas, y el impulso a la generación de iniciativas artísticas con impacto social y de apoyo a las artes escénicas. Su trayectoria como solista e improvisador le ha valido críticas halagadoras provenientes de personalidades y revistas como S. Conley, director de arte de la revista TIME, Classical Music Review, American Record Guide, New Music Conoisseur, Robert Dick—quien lo califica como uno de los más grandes y más creativos intérpretes de la actualidad. El propio Karlheinz Stockhausen comenta: Alejadas de lo ordinario, su música e interpretaciones se caracterizan por una gran emotividad y belleza. Por otro lado, Alejandro Escuer ejerce una intensa labor docente. Es profesor titular definitivo de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, y ha sido residente de Columbia University, y de Indiana University. Entre los premios y reconocimientos que ha recibido Alejandro Escuer destacan: Rockefeller Foundation Award, Fulbright García Robles para estancia postdoctoral, primer premio de interpretación del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes; Fideicomiso para la Cultura México-Estados Unidos multiples reconocimientos y premios por parte del Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes de México, entre otros. Escuer ha grabado tres discos de flauta solista con Quindecim Recordings: Jade Nocturno, Aqua, Aire Desnudo y Folklore Imaginario con www.cero-records.com Sus estudios incluyen un doctorado Ph.D. en New York University, maestría en el Sweelinck Conservatorium de Amsterdam (Uitvoerend Musicus) y grados en el Conservatorio Nacional de Música y en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

LIST OF WORKS

Alejandro Escuer considers himself to be an interdisciplinary artist whose work falls in between the world of a performer and improviser who creates music through live improvisation and electro acoustic manipulations of his own improvisations and materials. Alejandro Escuer is a musician who is strongly related to other art forms such as the visual arts and the relationship of music with art concepts that imply various degrees of social and ecological impact/awareness.  Therefore, the list that follows shows this diversity and is intended to provide an idea of the described spectrum:
